I have chosen charming woman in the fashion spotlight. Daphne Guinness is never afraid to be glamorous. The time I heard she will have an exhibition in New York with her own wardrobe collection I wanted mention her name also here.
Daphne can be hardly overlooked when she walks in the streets and you can easily recognize her because of her platinum and black striped hair and unbeliveable high platform shoes. She is recognized by many and many designers and people from this world and she totally deserves it, we could describe her as one of the most stylish women on the earth. Daphne is daughter of Jonathan Guinness, 3rd Baron Moyne and his second wife french beauty Suzanne Lisney.
She is a passionate collector of haute couture, true treasures in fashion heaven and she wants to share it with us and let us look to her fabulous world of dresses. I don't think real fashion lover could resist to visit the exhibition. It will take place at the Museum at FIT in NYC, 16 September 2011 till 7 January 2012, still enough time to book your flight.) Extraordinary models will be featured as Chanel, Lacroix, Azzedine Alaia, Tom Ford, Rick Owens and many others, also some newer young designers and models designed by herself in uniform style. You will see not only clothes, but also accessories, shoes and amazing jewellery and other valuable pieces.
I hope she will show us her masterpiece Contra Mundum (against the world from latin) which is the diamond studded armored glove which she created in the collaboration with Shaun Leane. Daphne wanted to make an unique piece of jewellery as she said “I dislike the idea of jewellery being like a price tag around someone’s neck. It needs to be something else - and there is something extremely magical about armour.”
It is embellished with 5000 pave diamonds.
I wish everyone could take a little fearless from her personality and wear something more extravagant and unusual.
